RESUMO
O artigo tem como objetivo apresentar o Arquivo do Almirante Tamandaré, um fundo composto de 1.492 documentos, divididos em 17 livros, que constitui rica fonte documental sobre o Patrono da Marinha do Brasil. No acervo documental explorado, encontram-se subsídios para a compreensão de sua atuação político-militar, com especial destaque para as Memórias de sua atuação como comandante da Força Naval brasileira destacada no Rio da Prata, entre 1864 e 1865, escritas pelo seu ajudante-de-ordens, o Capitão-Tenente Euzébio José Antunes.

ABSTRACT
The present article has the purpose to introduce to the public the Admiral Tamandare’s Archive: a collection of 1.492 documents, divided in 17 volumes, which compose a rich documental source about the Brazilian Navy Patron. The existing informations in that documents are a rich source that will help researchers to understand Brazilian political-military actions during the second half of the XIXth Century. With special emphasis to the volume that has the manuscript memory of Lieutenant Euzébio José Antunes, about the naval operation on Prata River’s in the years of 1864 and 1865.
